Date Festival in Medina
Do you like eating dates? Yup, date is a fruit cones from Middle East, including Saudi Arabia. Although Arab countries do not dominate the production of dates again, Saudi Arabia still maintains and preserves its date agricultures.
The festival was opened by the Governor of Medina, Prince Abdul Aziz bin Majid bin Abdul Aziz on Monday (10/11). It is held by the Farmers Cooperative Medina supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The date and food festival is expected to develop agriculture in Medina. This festival will be held for two weeks. Hopefully, 70,000 jamaah of Haj from various countries will come to this festival.
Chairman of the Farmers Cooperative Medina, Hamoud Al-Harbi said that many people all over the world love Medina dates and foods because they are typical and contains little water. Dates also have benefits for health as a staple food.
