If You Use Windows Based PC, Be Careful!

More than 98 percent of Windows computers is vulnerable to the cyber criminals because it contains at least a patched application. Even, almost 50 percent of computers have 11 programs or more that are affected by cyber attack. This statistic is a result of a research conducted by computer security bureau in Copenhagen, Secunia. This research is gotten from Personal Software Inspector utility which is installed in the consumers’ computers.

According to Thomas Kristensen, the Secunia Chief Technology Officer, this utility is able to track the existence of applications which have not been in the patch. After that Secunia selected randomly 20,000 computers which have adopted the PSI as a material study.

The data shows only 1.9 percent of computer users are really safe. This figure is lower than the study data in last January in which 4.5 percent is still free from computer programs that are not patched.

Kristensen thought that the reason of this problem is the PSI adopting activities are firstly done by technology experts, but nowadays many people adopt PSI although they do not master technology
