Microsoft and Nintendo: the Poison of Environment
The International Organization of Environment, Greenpeace, announced the list of the greenest company.
The greenest company goes to Nokia which got 6.9 points.
After Nokia, there are toshiba, Sony Ericsson, and Samsung which got 5.9 points. The next positions are Fujitsu Siemens and LGE which got 5.7 points. Meanwhile, Nintendo, the video game console company is in the last position which got 0.8 points. It means that Nintendo is not the green company.
Meanwhile, Microsoft is only one level above Nintendo, with 2.9 points. Both of these companies are described by Greenpeace as the poison the environment.
In assessing the companies, there are several criteria used from Greenpeace, such as company policy to eliminate the use of hazardous substances, substances in their products, how to recycle products that have been outdated, and company policy to reduce the impacts of poor operation of the product and the environment .
Greenpeace made the list of friendly environment companies firstly in August 2006. There are approximately 18 companies involved in this assessment till now.
